10 Minute Biscuit's 350 degrees 10-15 min.
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. sal
1 1/2-2 cups water
Mix all ingredients together. add enough water to make drop buscuits. Drop them onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes. They will be lightly cracked on top when done.
Note: This recipe is extremely versatile. Adding a little more water to make them flat enough to toast, cut in half and use as a sandwich, add bacon and shredded cheese or add sugar to make a sweet roll. With those four ingredients you can make just about anything.
Mock Strawberry Short Cake
Make some toast. Spread some strawberry jam on it and top with a little whipped cream and there you go. Instant short cake.
Easy Wrap Hot Dogs
1 or 2 cans biscuits 350 degree oven
1 package of hot dogs 10 minutes
Take two buscuits and lightly over lap them. Now roll them out until they will wrap around the hot dog. Wrap the hot dog, put is on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or till golden brown and let cool a bit if for kids or serve hot for dinner.
No Fat, No Sodium Whole Wheat Biscuits
2 c. whole wheat flour 350* for 10 min.
1/8 c. sugar twin
2 tsp. baking powder
2 egg whites
1/2 c. water
Stir and drop by spoonful's on greased cookie sheet.
Corn Bread Special
Next time you make corn bread try substituting 1/2 c. milk with 1/2 c. eagle brand sweetened condensed milk. You will never want to make them any other way after that.
Ever have too much spaghetti after dinner and don't want to waist it, but don't know what to do with it? Try putting it in the freezer in a sturdy freezer bag or boiling bag. When you need it again let it thaw and put it in a pan of boiling water then turn of the water and let pasta sit until hot or boil it until thawed and hot in a boiling bag.
Now you have refreshed pasta. You can do this with just about any pasta. Don't let it set too long in the water or it will become really soft.
Mock Peanut Butter Cookies
1 flour tortilla
sugar or brown sugar
Lightly warm the tortilla then spread peanut butter on it. Now sprinkle sugar or brown sugar on it, roll it up and you have a mock peanut butter cookie. If you add chocolate spread instead of the sugar you will have something like a reeses. Try a little jam and you have a PB&J.
Have fun. Flour tortillas are fun because you can put anything in them. Kids love these cookies because you can give them one and send them out to play. No Mess.
Ice Box Pickles
Layer in bottom of glass gallon jar:
7 c. thin sliced cucumbers
1 c. thin sliced onions
1 c. thin sliced green peppers
Boil until dissolved:
4 c. white sugar
2 c. white vinegar
2 Tbsp. celery salt
2 Tbsp. salt
(1 c. water optional)
Cool to room temp. and pour over slices. Shake.
Refrigerate 3-4 days before serving. Shake once every
day to ensure spices mingle with slices.
Favorite Coleslaw Dressing
1/3 c. mayo
1 Tbsp. white vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. celery seed (optional)
Stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour over shredded Cabbage.
